most times the Upgrade was given to the one checking-in although I was the Plat member, other times the Upgrade was withhheld and the person checking-in was told you can get a reg room now or wait for Craz to arrive as we set aside an upgrade for Craz but will only give it to Craz. If it was for a 1 night stay then no Up, if for more then 1 night and Craz was arriving later then the FD was told OK we'll take the reg room for tonight and switch to the Upgraded room for tommorrow onward and Craz will take care of that upon arrival later today.

Its really a case of YMMV and is hit or miss, and thats even at times when teh person checking in actually was in posssesion of the CC on the res that was mine.
