Its really a case of YMMV and is hit or miss, and thats even at times when teh person checking in actually was in posssesion of the CC on the res that was mine.

I've done this many times with my family and friends and it always is ok as long as the persons name checking in is on the reservation.

As a side note....you will not get the pts for the stay since the name on the credit card must match the name of the person on the reservation. The guest will however be entitled to whatever status benefits you have attained.
