Just wanted to update you guys--things worked fantastically at the Bellagio this weekend. There were three of us going so we went to the front desk and eyed the clerks trying to guess which one might be game to make this trick work. We found one that looked pretty smooth and went up to him. After he asked my name, I said "This is a special occassion so I was wondering if you had any complimentary upgrades available, preferably that have 2 beds since there are 3 of us" and slid him my credit card and ID with the $100 showing between them. He looked at it and said "Whoa...yeah, I think there will be something available." He punched through things for a while and said that almost all their suites were one bed except the really big ones that were usually taken on the weekend. We said we'd really like two beds so he said "let me speak to the manager". Came back with a book that had all the suites diagrammed in it. The ones with two beds were indeed huge and he said on a weekend there was just no way they could give that away, but goes "we're not giving you the Bellagio suite (which was 860 square feet), we're not giving you the Tower suite (1040 square feet), we can give you the Cypress Suite (1560 square feet) and put a rollaway bed in it." We said that would be fanastic, and it was. It was one of the suites that takes up the whole curved portion in the middle of the Bellagio when you look at it from the front. One giant room with bed, table, living room area, two TVs, bars, desk and more room to move around than any hotel room I'd ever been in. Then there were his and hers bathrooms, each with water closet. The one had a jacuzzi whirlpool in it, the other had a shower/sauna and both were bigger than most hotel rooms I've been in. And what a very--right over the fountains with about 7 big windows between the two bathrooms and the main room. Just fantastic and well worth the $33 extra it cost each of of us to tip the guy at the front desk.
