Whenever I get a business card in Japan that is ALL in Japanese (uncommon in our line of work, but it happens), I write the name of the person in Roman characters under their Japanese name when I receive the card.
I find their email address on their card often provides me with the reading of at least their last name in romaji, so no writing is necessary.
