Here is the situation: I will renew my passport in the next month. I have a Brazilian Visa with three years validity left on the document.
Is there a process to keep a valid visa in an expired passport?
Back to the original topic....
I applaud the ten year passport. With the present requirement of many countries to permit entry with at least a six month validility period, our present passport is only good for 4 1/2 years.
Ahh the troublesome Brazilian Visa!! I had a year left on my last visa when my passport expired so the good people in the passport office left the pages with the Brazilian visa unpunched so I could continue to use the visa. I carried my current passport and the cancelled passport with the uncancelled Brazilian visa for 2 more trips with no difficulties.
I had a window of opportunity after the last trip, so I obtained a new 5 year Brazilian visa in my current passport, and then stopped going to GRU. Tomorrow will be my first trip in some time.
