Count me in....

as a Kimpton fan -- especially the Palomar in San Francisco.

Best example of how they "get it" in my book is that they recognize that many travelers prefer the local newspaper to the ubiquitous USA Today and keep that preference in your profile. (Quite unlike the Hyatt in Cincinnati that literally had no local newspapers anywhere on the premises.)

Restaurants are, agreed, hit-or-miss, ranging from among the best in town (Fifth Floor at the Palomar) to good enough to use before a close by theatre (312 Chicago at the Allegro) to pedestrian to none (70 Park, NYC). But I rarely eat in hotel restaurants in big cities. There are too many other interesting choices even -- no, especially -- for breakfast.
