I find that one a bit hard to believe - air traffic between Paris and London suffered big time when the Chunnel opened with a large number of regular air travellers migrating across to Eurostar.
Also, the figures I have from ICAO lists SYD-MEL as the third busiest (doesn't stipulate DOM or INT), but it doesn't state what measure they are using - passenger numbers or air movements.
