The move to CDG terminal 2A will be a big improvement.For starters, the rail connections to Paris will not need a shuttle bus connection. Although the walking distances may still be great( as you have to pass thru hall 2C to get to the station for RER downtown or TGV trains to non Paris destinations,) the walkways are spacious and airconditioned.
Still,you may miss the "Orwellian" style of the central doughnut of terminal one .
