Thank you and I'll no doubt have a look on amazon for Japanese etiquette books. Now, I'm sure the books won't mention this, but does it make a difference if my own cards and/or stationery are 'engraved' rather than 'thermo-engraved'? Are the Japanese people that observant?

The eye contact thing is interesting, I've heard too much eye contact is rude in Japan.
