I have little faith in Midwest's ability to grow. They are playing the PR card but it it really bad. Although the people of southeastern WI are stupid enough to eat up everything that they say.
Without question I hear so many of my colleagues have bought into the whole wide leather seat, cookies, and "our hometown airline" ..... It's embarrasing that every time Mr. Hoekesema opens his mouth to the press it's cookies and leather seats. Yet, Midwest continues to expand, albeit slowly, with regional jets and saver service. I just don't see the differentiation from other airlines. I've said it before if we we were comparing Airtran to Midwest Express circa 1994 then no problem M.E. kicked ..., period. Now, same thing as everyone else. Meanwhile, Midwest single handedly stifles growth at our airport, and keeps the myth alive that Milwaukee is this nice little friendly midwest outpost that has neither the sophistication of Minneapolis or the dynamic way of life like Chicago. Every time CEO Tim opens his mouth he proves the point. I can't help but shake the notion that after the heat of this failed take over goes away Midwest's focus will again be Kansas City. ****side note**** can anyone explain Midwest's attraction to white elephant aircraft(e.g. Fairchild 328, Boeing 717, any of the MD's)sheesh what a bunch of boneheads!
