On AA.com in March 2006 I purchased a ticket for the wrong date. Less than 24 hours later I realized my mistake and called AA. The new fare was $14.16 cheaper so they mailed me a voucher. The rep stated that since it was less than 24 hours they could easily make the change.
Of course there is another complete discussion as to the $15 fee to use a voucher for non EXP's. It would have cost me $0.84 to use this voucher (I was still PLT at the time) so I waited until I made EXP.
