Are you referring to the CIBC credit cards? If so, it's called Aerogold (not Aeroplan, which is the name of the program).

Generally, I would say the Aventura card is better because you always have the option to convert Aventura to Aeroplan points on a 1-1 basis. However, the conversion must be done in 10,000 point increments.
