Many airlines, certainly those in Australia, specifically ban the use of both dry and wet ice. They had more of an issue with the dry ice. I travel with frozen goods all of the time. Containers must be leak-proof and I usually wrap with newspaper to insulate and soak spills.

Why the issues with ice? When I was in ANC, I think they were selling dry ice on the street corner for packing all of that fish.
