I'm sure the train will be great for people who do want to connect to the KTX, especially during peak travel times. But I just wonder how many passengers there are in your situation and whether that justifies having such an expensive rail link for such few passengers. I doubt the rail link will ever come anywheres near to breaking even. But I guess time will tell if it will be successful or not.

I don't expect the tollroad between ICN and SEL will reach capacity anytime soon. So it seems to me that a much more reasonable approach would have been to just build the SEL to Seoul Station link, and rely on existing limousine buses to get passengers from ICN to SEL. With all the money they spent on the ICN-SEL rail link they could improved the road access to SEL to make the travel time by road even faster.

When I looked at taking the train last month, I didn't see a single other passenger going in my direction towards the train, so I'm guessing they're off to an extremely slow start, with the possible exception of airport workers who would like not been riding the train at the time I was there.
