Oh so you are 1 of Those. Boy Im probably happier then You are that You arent working in Op Mgmt any longer.

although there are a few like me who dont mind the Walk , due to the compensation . Many a person really dont wish to have to deal with it. Had the OP wanted to they could have booked that CY to begin with.

If I make a res and my CC is on file and Im told I can cancel up to XX and after that I will be charged for that even if I dont show up then YES I expect that a room should be set aside as the Hotel will get its $$$ even if I dont show up. I dont know of a single Hotel today that will make a res w/o having a CC on the res. They are PROTECTED its the Consumer that isnt! This protects the customer, otherwise a Hotel will sell a rom at a higher rate to say a walk-in and when I arrive (with my El Cheapo rate) sorry we are out of rooms, you will have to try somewhere else and hope you can find something.

If I dont show then my CC will be charged and so will the person to whom they gave my room to, so the Hotel will get 2x on the payment.

The Op is a very nice person I would NOT have accepted only a refund plus not paying for that night to teh CY. I would hav eExpected 1 BMG.

Side note, I would venture to say that The Waldorf Collection should NOT be a place 1 should expect to use said CERT, otherwise Yes it should be usable at any Hilton Family Hotel
