I could imagine that you hold a F ticked but are seated (booked) in J, but this would be another story....
No, I have an F ticket and am booked in F. It is a UA issued ticket on a UA flight. However the flight is operated as 2 class (J & Y) by AC.
The peculiarity is because UA sells F & Y but AC sells J & Y in the same market. They codeshare on each others metal, and UA operates 2 cabin F & Y, AC J & Y. You could also buy a J ticket from AC and be seated in the F cabin on a UA operated flight.
