I am traveling with a couple friends to China during the summer but I have a couple questions regarding seating arrangements and ticket classes.

1. Both of my friends bought their tickets from a travel agent, will I be able to choose their seat assignments via nwa.com and since I am a platinum member and NWA allows me to obtain seats reserved for platinums in economy class, will I be be able to assign them those seats? (21 or close to it, etc).

2. For my return flight, if there is perksaver world business class available, will I be able to upgrade myself for the current ticket even though I used a promotion to get the ticket itself?
