I have had the opposite happen - board F first while Y was being cleaned/catered. That makes more sense to me.

However, if it was a 757 and they boarded at 2L, then it would be fairly easy to restrict boarding to one cabin or another. Was this really enforced though? I mean did people in F get on before they actually called F?
