AA or BA Frequent Flyer Number for BA Flight BOS - LHR - Kiev and return
I am booked on BA for flight to LHR and then on to Kiev. I am gold status on AA and have no status on BA (for transatlantic leg).

Can I use my BA frequent flyer number for the transatlantic leg and then my AA frequent flyer number for the LHR to Kiev leg to optimize AA mileage accrual?

Is there any point using my AA ff # for the entire trip...e.g. chance of upgrade, preferential seating, etc.

Am I correct that I cannot use AA miles to upgrade transatlantic leg but can use AA miles through one world alliance awards for the LHR to Kiev?

I welcome any tips more seasoned travelers might have.
