I was on a flight yesterday and sat next to a person with "CIP" on their boarding pass above their status (Gold).

Now I know that CIP is normally Commercially Important Person - but does anyone know what benefits it allows you - she was not chairman's as this is located on the "status" - CIP was above the status, which was only gold in this case.

FYI, this person was on the board of at least one public company who would no doubt spend big money with Qantas.
