Pittsburgh is a ghost town for US!

Wow.

I know this has probably been mentioned a billion times before, but since the search function doesn't let me search "PIT" and "Pittsburgh" turned up nary a thing, I'm going to beat a dead horse.

I'm sitting here in the US Club and I must say after flying through PIT several times in the past, this airport is just depressing now! They've got this gigantic club, and I've counted all of 15 people (including employees) since I came in an hour and a half ago. Looking out the window down the A concourse, I count 9 USX aircraft and at least as many empty gates...with nothing having come or gone for the last 30 minutes.

That's to say nothing of counter after vacant ticket counter that was formerly designated for US. The 20 second wait at security on a Friday night at 6:30 PM was the only upside, and even that was sad in light of everything else.

I'd heard that US had shifted ops away from PIT, but I had no idea they had done it on this big of a scale! It's sad to see that they can fit all the departures for the entire airport on two and a half screens at 6:30 PM. This isn't the PIT I remember by a country mile!

And, oh yeah, as if that wasn't enough, the "FlyPittsburgh" free wireless is currently functioning around 2400 baud. Full signal...just maddeningly slow! I can't imagine there are that many people in this airport sucking down tons of bandwidth. It's so bad that someone created a computer to computer connection titled, "Someone Please Fix This Wireless Network." Gave me a chuckle after trying unsuccessfully to load FT for 10 minutes before finally switching over to my Sprint card.

On the upside, coming in from CLT yesterday, that hub seems busy as ever. I assume US has just shifted more East ops to PHL and CLT after downsizing things here at PIT?

I know this airport has seen better days. I hope another airline moves in to occupy all of these vacant gates soon!
