I just stayed at the Pulitzer two weeks ago and chose it over the Hilton due to location. It was very easy to walk to the sites from there. You can walk to Anne Frank House, Museumplein, Dam Square, and the red-light district all very easily. Our room was a non-smoking room and it was just fine. On the SPG forum, you will see a lot of either love or hate reviews of the place, but I felt the interior was well updated and clean.
The Dylan Hotel was our second choice as it also has a good location. Chose Pulitzer because we were able to still book it as a category 4.

Enjoy your trip
