but you're being a bit judgemental.

people do what they must do. for some people, doing the "lap child" thing isn't a matter of being cheap, it's a matter of economic necessity.

and your comment about placing kids in the back of trucks "like dogs..." reminds me of asia, where they do place their children in the back of trucks, or where they seat their children between mother and father, on motorbikes!

and before you get too judgemental about that, just remember that it wasn't long ago when it was no big deal for kids to ride in the back of pickup trucks here in the States. as a child in the 70s and 80s, in california, that was how i was transported between my family's ranches. california didn't pass a law against that until the 1990s. i'd bet it's still legal in some states.

times change, standards change, often from economic necessity. you're just at a different point in the curve than other people right now, that's all.

thinking back a little more... my "car seat" as a child was my mom's right arm. any time she came to a stop, that arm sprang out in front of me...
Yes but it's now 2007. I did the same in rural Mississippi but wouldn't do it today.
I am not going to gamble and suggest others shouldn't either.
Why regret $200, most of these people are not buying last minute tickets like I do.
They plan their vacation months ahead of time.
I stand by my comments.
