Of course, LH decreased the pitch both in the A346 and in the new shorthaul configs to compensate for any positive effect.
You don't feel it on the new shorthaul planes, because there, the pitch is higher in the front than it's in the back. Bascially, all rows that could possibly be needed for C have a higher pitch than the rest.
