Read that to mean that Cathay isn't taking bookings on the route through that period, not that they've taken a firm decision not to resume service before then. The last time I mentioned that the route might not be one that the bean-counters would miss, the replies were that they made it up on freight; if so they're probably busy jiggering things so they can make a daylight run out of it and will be back asap.
