I don't necessarily agree... I've had some good views of Manhattan landing at LGA on the rare occasion we land on the crosswind or from the west... but 9/10, LGA operates with a E->W flow (since winds typically come out of the west).

That said, for whatever reason I've almost always landed at JFK TO the south... if you come in on 13L, you'll have a SPECTACULAR view of Manhattan from the left side of the plane. 13L/31R is JFK's main arrivals runway.

Long story short -- left, as we seem to agree.
