I probably have 100 plants out by now and a flat of seeds started that I hope will yield late summer tomatoes. I bought one huge plant that already had tomatoes on it, so I have five, but none have started to ripen yet.

We have a bad habit of leaving town for an extended period in June every year. The neighbors don't water the garden enough, so the tomatoes suffer. Last year we had 84 plants and I'm not sure we got 84 tomatoes total. They were finished bearing way too early in the season.

I'm hoping we can plant our baby seedlings in June right before we leave town. If they get enough water, I hope to be harvesting until frost.
