I think most clothing now comes with instructions to Dry Clean Only just to protect the mfgrs from liability in case of shrinkage. That said, 100% cotton jeans usually do shrink. If you love the way they fit but don't want to dry clean you could try handwashing in cold water and letting them drip dry.
