AA has used 763 and 757 in this route since it was started a few years ago. When they need the 763 for a long-haul market they sub a 757. This is particularly true for the summer when they have more seasonal service to Europe. Perhaps they also need to (at least temporarily) cut 763 capacity while they finish the new J-seats installation.
And we won't get into the topic of why, after all these months, they didn't finish the installation of the NGBC seats until the middle of the peak summer season...AAAARGH.
