Thanks for the informative replies. Based upon everyone's feedback, I decided that the lav traffic for a 3 hr, 38 min flight (MSP-SEA) would be tolerable so 14-B it is. Jacksafar nailed it with the point about 14-A and B both being "aisle" seats so a little outward leaning by both parties - if broadshouldered like me - will make us both more comfortable.
Well, a few moments after scanning everyone's response I was in NWA.com to see if 14-B was still available. Still 24-hours out and when I clicked on my itin up pops 5-B. Oh, yeah!

It's sort of moot now but since most of my NW miles have been on Airbii and -9s I'm not all that familiar with the 757 family. I'll be sure to look for row 14 on the 753s in the future.
24 hr EUA for Gold - guess this proves that "thou shall not know the day, nor the hour" applies to more than just the end of days.
