At least with the German CC it is not problem to pay a certain amount into your CC acount and this increases your spending limit.I do that frequently before substantial spendings.
Regarding meetings: I had a 15 people meeting at the W=A last week, stayed there and simply arranged everything locally. Meeting room, dinner and drinks at the Bull & Bear and Oscar's. Everyting worked smoothly and even under to local NY triple point promotion - spending of about 12k and big points. It simply was not called a banquet but a dinner.....
