I agree - almostly.
I use mine each year for two PE to BGI. Buy one at £1050 or so and get the other `free` BUT plus tax.
When the promotion is on, PE tickets cost around £750 inc tax but I have to pay the £1050 rate to qualify for the companion ticket. I save a few hundred quid over the cheapest fare. A poor deal compared to AMEX.
CS advise using these companion tickets during peak seasons to get best value. Trying to get availability then is very difficult.
