You def. don't want to do a flight of that length in Y on the slave ship. Sure, many would say a "better" use of upgrades (miles, stickers, eVIPs, etc.) would be a better aircraft. But, in this case, it's not so much what your upgrades are getting you "to" as to what they are sparing you from.
