Hi everyone,
I made an award reservation and after it was ticketed, as usual AA sent the e-ticket via email. The thing was that I never got the email. I called and tried to figure out why. It turned out they had the wrong email. Not my fault, the agent typed in the wrong address. The email they had on their system was missing one letter. I use my name as my email. The mistake was something like
[email protected] instead of
[email protected]. The email was corrected and I finally got the email.
After doing a google search, that other email actually exists. Now, the person who received the email has all my reservation info, including the record locator, my full name, my AAdvantage number. I called AA to see if I could have the record locator changed for security purposes, but they said they would have to reissue the ticket, etc. To put it simply, no. The agent asked me if I wanted to create a password to access the reservation on the phone. I did. The problem is, with all the info provided on the email, one can search the reservation on AA.com and would be able to change things or even cancel the reservation. The chance of anyone messing with reservation is probably slim, but who knows. Does anyone have similar experience? Is this something I should worry about? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
