I live in Haggerston. I think it's fine, and I've never met anyone who's actually been there who thinks differently. On the other hand, I do live in a relatively new-build apartment complex.

Areas can change quite quickly over a relatively small geographical distance though - I know that a lot of people wouldn't even consider Dalston which is barely five minutes bus ride away north, whereas Hoxton and Shoreditch are only a few minutes south and relatively expensive/trendy.
