However .... what are the fare classes for the upgrade?

Its its fully flexible or semi flex then, quite frankly, it will be cheaper to buy a restricted PE ticket in the first place.

£20k is a tough threshold as well, especially as you can't, for example, pay council tax on an Amex - my BMI Mastercard gets an outing for that one.
