Is it CMPA that will cover the doctor or private insurer under the AC "Temporary Employee"?
One must also ask, does AC have unlimited covered which would be essential considering the large settlements that are routinely given out by juries in North America.
Would CMPA coverage be in effect outside Canada? I doubt it, thus AC's solution seems a practical way of dealing with the situation where no Good Samaritan laws are in effect. Since such an incident could occur over any country, or deal with several given the origin-stopover-destination of the flight, a company like AC would have to have some form of clause in their liaibility policy to indemnify such a situation. (This would be different from traditional Malpractice, since under emergency situations, most countries have some form of Good Samaritan laws that absolve or limit liability when someone is attempting to assist the ailing party.
Since FAs are CUPE, and they'd demand union dues up front, and the pilots are...well pilots...I would expect MDs become management.
My question: If intervention is unsuccessful, does AC upgrade the corpse into the front cabin as BA apparently does?
