I'm going to be in Sydney for a couple of weeks in early May and I thought I might do a day trip on the weekend for something to do. Unfortunately (?) due to reading FT too much, I've developed an obsession for status credits that is quite unjustified given my lowly NB status, therefore I'm after as many segments as possible for not much money.

I've only really found one possible itinery, SYD-ADL-MEL-SYD for $244.09, but the ADL-MEL flight has only one N class seat left, and I don't want to book it yet because my Sydney trip hasn't been confirmed.

Is there any chance that more N seats will be released closer to the date? I'm guessing not. Otherwise, there are other possible itineries that have plenty of N availability, but there's too much availability on direct flights to have any chance of booking multiple segments at this stage.
