Flying almost exclusively on UA international routes for business, and I must admit I agree with OP's statement on UA's inferior C products as compare to other airlines. I am not comparing UA against the likes of SQ, NH, VS or BA. Instead of I am comparing UA against AA and DL's 777 international services that I have had recent experiences
However, I also get a reality check everytime I have to fly to MAD on US' ancient 762 from PHL. ther than the at the fabulous Envoy lounge at PHL, I would spend the whole trip wishing I was on a UA plane across the pond. I am sure if I would have a different opinion if I was on the A330.
After my last trip in AA C cabin from NRT to LAX and made PLT, I've also begun to wonder why I keep flying UA although I alreadyhave lifetime 1P in the bag.
There are several good reasons to stick with UA including better domestic services than its UA rivals, E+, route network, M+, etc... all tangible stuff.
But, at the end of day, the feeling of being in a familiar surrounding, and know exactly what to expect on each flight and at the airport (especially after a hectic business trip overseas), will lead me to continue flying on United .....
I feel at home and relaxed each time I see that tulip sign at a foreign airport....
