The safest place for an infant is in a car seat.

What if there's strong turbulence or an emergency resulting in a quick landing, whatever. You are now sitting up-front and the car seat is in back. Useless.

I think your plan is a terrible idea. Either buy three seats together or just don't bother with the third seat, as you'll have a lap baby in your F seating.

I'm not impressed with the "at least we're buying three seats unlike the other (bad) parents" argument.

I'd really like to know what any FAs think of the OPs Brilliant Idea(tm).
