I was wondering how long it would take for someone to move this thread over (no comment about facists here!!)

BlondeBomber, I'd hate to be your travel agent - you sound like you're even worse than me in wanting to get every single mile you pay for out of a fare. One of my Star Alliance 38000 mile RTW fares came to ...38000 miles on the button. The Thai International rep was in at my travel agents and was so impressed with the itinerary that she took a copy so she could use it in a training workshop.

As to the points raised getting segments in Africa is really difficult as Johannesburg - Harare on QF is the only internal African segment that a OneWorld carrier has traffic rights over. Comair flys Capetown and J'burg to Windhoek and Vic Falls with BA flight numbers and BA livery but I think these would count as codeshare flights. So my including CPT in the first itinerary may not have been possible. BA also flies from Nairobi to the Seychelles and Mauritius which would be wonderful to do (and just think of those extra miles)but you would need to fly back to Nairobi and make your own way to J'burg to pick up your next intercontinental flight.

Southwest Pacific used all 4 segments PER-DRW-SYD-CNS-AKL- assuming QF has a CNS-AKL flight (NZ do for sure so I'd be surprised if QF didn't) and unless you were staying for less than 24 hrs at one of these cities you'd need to pay for an extra stopover.

South America is again limited by lack of a Latin American partner airline but apparently Iberia have signed up so this may open up more possibilities. The only possible sectors at the moment here I think are SCL to EZE on BA and EZE to GRU on CP.

North America -well you can work your extra non-stopover segments out yourself. I'd think that the last thing I'd be interested in doing after this sort of a trip would be flying around North America stopping less than 24 hours in each city for a couple of thousand miles more - my travel agent would have me committed (or admit herself to a psych hospital)

"Real World" flight scedules would certainly allow that itinerary without going over the stopover limit.

Which frequent flyer program to credit in??
I'd go for Canadian plus myself and I'll explain why below.

Given you weren't satisfied with my last itinerary as being worthy of a true mileage hound I'll give you another one which by my reckoning must be close to the maximum mileage - you can add some North/Central American segments if you like!!

So ther you are 83000 miles - does that satisfy you? Of course you'd have to want to go to Oman and Cyprus.

And for MGM who was worried about paying a first class ticket and being forced to slum it in Business class all segments except EZE-GRU,LHR-LCA,JNB-HRE, HKG-BOM,SYD-PPT and there return flights would be in 1st Class. So about 63000 miles in 1st and 20000 in Business.

Now to the points. On Canadian Plus base miles and class of service bonus count toward elite status and that includes American,QAntas and I presume now all ONEWORLD partner flights.

If you're starting from scratch in Canadian PLUS you'll earn 63000 x 1.5 + 20000 x1.25 =120000 status miles. After your first 35000 until you reach 85000 you'll be Gold and after 85000 miles Executive Platinum. For your status miles as Gold you get a 50% bonus and as EP 100% - I think on all ONEWORLD flights not just CP ones and if this is the case you'd get 60000 bonus points, meaning that your one RTW ticket -at a cost of $12000 AUS or CDN give or take a bit would get you Top Tier ONEWORLD status and 180000 Canadian Plus points and it costs 150000 CP points for a 1st class ticket from North America to Australia with a stop allowed in London on BA.

Anyone not satisfied with this???????

I'm going into retirement now!!!!!
