I am not sure , given the present policy , that a seat would be released to you.
The 14 days waitlist was an attempt to put some sort of certainty into the queue.
In the past, if you were at an international departure point 24 hours prior was the cut off.
It would be interesting to see if they will try and help - assuming seats were available- given that you were within the 14 day window.
