My guess is at least intially AA will not take them seriously and match fares (albeit with AA would involve a connection rather than a direct flight). However, if this real no frills airline catchs on and starts taking away traffic then AA may move to cut service or just match them and hope that they follow the Independence Air path to destruction (which is what UA did with Independence Air at IAD).
