Not wanting to start a new thread, I was wondering what your restaurant recommendations were for ordinary people, not looking for the best (read: most expensive) nor any particular cuisine. Something that isn't a tourist trip nor pretentious, but rather somewhere a local would have a meal at. As a consequence, I've already written off the entire G'town area

Examples of what I'm looking for:
--Rudy's BBQ in Austin.
--Shapiro's Deli in Indianapolis.
--Squat and Gobble in San Francisco.
--Katz's in NYC (ok, a little touristy is ok)
--In-n-Out in LA
--5 Guys and the Chili Bowl in DC.
