Yes do it. You can see a little bit of everything. The key is not wasting time criscrossing the city once you get there. I'd avoid the Shinjuku/Shibuya side of town and focus your day hitting what you want to do between Tsukiji (berakfast or lunch), Tokyo Station/Palace, Ginza, Akihabara, Asakusa.
