I believe that because the state of New Jersey requires it, bottled water has an expiration date. I'm not likely to be too exercised if my bottled water has passed its expiration date.
The expiration dates on bottled water are meant more for the bottles themselves rather than the contents, as after a time the plastic starts to degrade into less-than-happy chemical compounds that are then diffused into the water. Yum.
Oh, and I'll use milk for 7 days after the exp date.
