Thanks so much. That actually makes a bit of sense. I even asked Alaska Airlines if they knew how it worked, when I called the MVP reservations line. They informed me that not even they really know who and when will be upgraded. The scenario you laid out makes sense to me, and I'll let you all know what happens...
