Agreed Globaliser. As my book says (March 2002 re-print) you get cabin bonus on all OW flights but only get status bonus on QF or AA flights (shame that one). These rules apply to miles and not status.

Status points are set out in a table somewhere and appear, for business class roughly to be twice that of full economy on the shorter flights and about double on longer ones.
