Status and Cabin Bonus on OW (non-QF) Flights
I've a question on how these points are dished out... Hope someone can clarify.
I'm a QF silver member and I've a First and Business class ticket booked on CX later this year. Will I earn cabin and status bonus on these flights (WLG-AKL-HKG-LHR)?
The reason I ask is when I read the QF T&C, I don't think I can, which is a bit of a disappointment. However, the thing that confuses me is when I flew CX last time, I earned some. I clearly remember it because it was a WLG-AKL-HKG return trip (WLG-AKL on QF, AKL-HKG on CX). I departed NZ before Sept 2001 and returned in Sept 2001.
Sept 2001 was the time when QF restructured their programme. At the time I questioned QF why I earned less points on my return leg (on business class) than my departure leg (on economy). They said they are now measuring points on miles rather than kilometers, but pointed out I've earned a pile of status and cabin bonuses on my return leg. That meant I earned cabin and status bonus on CX flights, which is contradictory to their current T&C.
Does that mean they've now changed their T&C and I won't be able to earn these bonuses on my upcoming CX flights? I was hoping these flights will put me up from silver to gold...
Thanks.
