I book Buffalo to Midway frequently, but to get the flights I want, I book BUF-BWI-MDW (I don't want to wait for the 7 pm nonstop). If I book it on the same PNR, it actually prices out cheaper than two one-ways. For example, if I book today for a flight in late May, the lowest fares shown are $49 and $59, but it calculates the fare at $68.
